Dear Dance Family,
First and foremost we hope your family is healthy and safe. Please know our hearts are with you and we are aware of the physical and financial impact of the Covid–19 virus on you, our students and your families.
The safety of our dance families is important to us.
It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing there will be a different format for recital this year. We have explored many avenues, but with the procedures and precautions that are necessary as we prepare to re-open we have concluded that our traditional recital will not be possible for the 2019-2020 dance season. This has been a difficult decision to make.
However, we are planning on all dancers participating in a photo slide show in costumes for our Recital this year. See below for more information.
Our theme is “Together In Heart”. We know everyone is anxious to get things back to a new normal and enjoy summer as we prepare for fall. Thank you teachers for helping us work through this together. The following may answer some of your questions:
Recital/Slide Show: With your help, a Recital/Slide Show will be available on our Website battlecreekdance.com in mid to late August. Information about this activity will be mailed to you in a few weeks. We can’t wait to see you in your spectacular costume!
Tuition: A statement of your account will be mailed to you in a few weeks. You should have paid through March. The statement should include fundraiser credits, costume balances and other credits. All credits not used will be carried forward to our next session. Directions for making payments will be included with your statement.
T-Shirt: A special T-shirt is being designed to commemorate this unusual year. It will be a black shirt with white and red lettering: “Further apart but together in heart Shari Rarick School of Dance 2020.” Information about ordering T-shirts will be included with your statement.
Costumes: A special costume pick up date is being organized. Detailed information for the costume pick up will be included with your statement
Professional Photos: If there is an interest, we will have a photographer available at the studio for our traditional recital photos. Please “contact us” on the web site in you are interested is having photos taken.
Summer activities: Summer classes are still in question depending on State guidelines. If you are interested in a three-day workshop in August, or princess camp or Sparkle intensive, please complete the Registration form available at battlecreekdance.com.
Fall classes: We are planning to begin Fall classes on Tuesday, September 8.
Please complete the Registration Form as soon as possible so your fall class schedule can be completed.
“Band” App: During the state mandated closure, we posted class information and technique for students using this format because it allowed us to use music and keep your classes private. Invitations were sent out via email – one for each class the student was enrolled in. In addition to the class bands, there is also a general Band for announcements for our whole student body. Postings remain viewable for 30 days. If you are not connected through Band please send us your email on the “contact us” button on the web site.
We are looking at continuing use of this app for future dance seasons as it may come in handy on snow days or for students who have to miss class days and need to catch up on choreography. Stay tuned for more information to come.
Questions: Click the “contact us” button and use comments box with your message. You can also leave a message on the Studio phone [269-963-0669].
